Sweet Girl Photo Biography
The nucleus of The Sweet came together in 1966, when drummer Michael Thomas Tucker (b. 17 July 1947, Harlesden, London, England) and vocalist Brian Francis Connolly (b. 5 October 1945, Hamilton, Scotland) played together in Wainwright's Gentlemen, a small-time club circuit band whose repertoire comprised a mixture of Motown, R&B and psychedelia. The pair broke away to form Sweetshop, later shortened to just Sweet, with Steve Norman Priest (b. 23 February 1950, Hayes, Middlesex) on bass and Frank Torpey on guitar.

After releasing four unsuccessful singles on Fontana and EMI, Torpey was replaced by first Mick Stewart, and then Mick by Andrew David Scott (b. 30 June 1949, Wrexham, Wales) and the new line-up signed to RCA. The band were introduced to the writing partnership of Chinn and Chapman, who were to provide the band with a string of hit singles. Their initial success was down to bubblegum pop anthems such as Funny Funny, Co-Co, Poppa Joe and Little Willy.

However, the band were writing their own hard-rock numbers on the b-sides of these hits. This resulted in Chinn/Chapman coming up with heavier pop-rock numbers, most notably the powerful Blockbuster, which reached number 1 in the UK at the beginning of 1973. The group's determinedly effete, glam-rock image was reinforced by a succession of Top 10 hits, including Hell Raiser, Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage and The Six Teens.

Sweet decided to take greater control of their own destiny in 1974 and recorded the album Sweet Fanny Adams without the assistance of Chinn and Chapman. The album charted at number 27, but disappeared again after just two weeks. The work marked a significant departure from their commercially-minded singles on which they had built their reputation. Set Me Free, Restless and Sweet F.A. epitomized their no-frills hard-rock style. Desolation Boulevard included the self-penned Fox On The Run which was to hit number 2 in the UK singles chart. This gave the band confidence and renewed RCA's faith in the band as a commercial proposition.

However, as Sweet became more of an albums band, the hit singles began to dry up, with 1978's Love Is Like Oxygen being their last Top 10 hit. Following a move to Polydor, they cut four albums with each release making less impact than its predecessor. Their brand of melodic rock, infused with infectious hooks and brutal riffs, now failed to satisfy both the teenybopper and the more mature rock fan. Since 1982, various incarnations of the band have appeared from time to time, with up to two of the original members in any one line-up.

The most recent of these was in 1986, when they recorded a live album at London's Marquee Club, with Paul Mario Day (ex-More) handling the vocals. Brian Connolly now suffers from a muscular disorder, however, his grim situation was warmed in 1992 with the incredible success of the film Wayne's World and the subsequent renewed interest in the Sweet, due to the track in the film Ballroom Blitz. Since then, the two current versions of the band, Andy Scott's Sweet, and Brian Connolly's Sweet, have been regularly touring and gigging, and even producing their own new material (which will be detailed in this site as it expands).

Sweet Girl Photos Biography
After beginning her singing career at the age of three, when she won an electric garage door opener in a singing contest, she began recording commercials at the age of six, toured with Mickey Rooney, and performed in Las Vegas as the opening act for Bill Cosby at the age of twelve.[2][3][4] She began recording country music in 1974, but with little success beyond one minor Country Chart hit.[2] Switching to rock and roll, she signed to the British Stiff Records label and released her first album, Fool Around, in 1978, dropping out of high school to concentrate on her career, although she was still required to devote time to her studies.[2][5][6] Sweet was backed by.

The Records on the Stiff Records tour in 1978.[2] The album was a critical success, but sales were poor, although she did have some success with the single "B-A-B-Y" (a cover of the 1966 Carla Thomas song), which was a top-40 hit in the UK.[7] She also generated some controversy for her Lolita-like image. Her follow-up album, Protect the Innocent, produced by Martin Rushent and Alan Winstanley,[8] was largely ignored by the public and the music media. She then signed to Columbia Records in 1981, releasing ... And Then He Kissed Me, which launched the hit single, "Everlasting Love", a duet with Rex Smith.[2]

Sweet only released one more album, 1982's Blame it on Love before retiring.[2] She resumed her education via correspondence courses and went on to graduate from Columbia University in French and English Literature in 1988.[5] She returned to music sporadically as she focused on her education, recording the title track to John Waters' film Hairspray and many of the songs for his musical Cry Baby.[5] In 1989 and 1990, she hosted a show on The Comedy Channel (forerunner of Comedy Central) called The Sweet Life.[5] She also recorded the theme song to the Nickelodeon series Clarissa Explains It All;[5] the theme song was a reworking of the theme song for her show on The Comedy Channel.

The Sweet Life. She also provided the voice for the Barbie animated series.[5] In 1992 appeared in a minor role as George Costanza's cousin on an episode of Seinfeld, "The Contest. She has since focused on establishing an acting, writing, and producing career. In 1994 she appeared in All Tied Up.[5] She worked as a writer and executive producer on the television series Dharma & Greg, Commando Nanny, George Lopez and Hot in Cleveland,[9][10] and has worked in television production since the late 1990s.[11]

In 1982, she had a starring role in a low-budget musical film entitled Rock 'n' Roll Hotel, which also featured Judd Nelson. It was filmed in Richmond, Virginia, at the then-inoperative Jefferson Hotel. The film was never released to theaters, but was eventually finished by Sweet and her father and shown on Home Box Office.
In 1992 Rhino Records released Fool Around: The Best of Rachel Sweet. The CD compilation included tracks from all the previous releases as well as the theme to Hairspray.
Sweet bought Madonna's former home, Los Pavoreales, selling it in 2010.

Sweet Girls Photo Biography
Life is like a rainbow, it all just depends on how you want to paint it" With that in mind, the singer/songwriter, sister duo Sweet Rush were on their way. Born in Mogadishu Somalia, Siham and Iman Hashi are the first Somali artists to surface on the Atlanta music scene. Their family moved to Toronto, Canada when they were little girls. Raised in Rexdale, these sisters were subjected to an environment, in which at times was very discouraging. These Canadian beauties were above and beyond their years as R&B artists. In their younger ages Iman & Siham displayed their musical talent at local talent shows, performing at school plays and around family and friends. Their talent didn't stop there either, also skilled in creative song writing, they take full credit for their lyrical material.

Iman and Siham were exposed to many producers that offered hallow promises always short of the truth. After countless run in's with studios that tried to tie the sisters down, they felt discouraged with every step closer being a prolonged false advertisement. The constant shot downs took a toll on the sisters causing them to second guess their future.

The sisters recognized that they weren't ready to play the cards they were dealt, but rather take their life by the hands and pursue their singing career full throttle. Not that the young stars weren't working on it in their hometown of Toronto, already. But after experiencing many dead ends, the girls felt it was time to take that step and paint their life with all the colors that would represent their vibrant and promising future. The young stars made their move to Atlanta, Georgia. With financial struggles they constantly tried to make a dollar from a dime. Yet with the support; emotionally and financially, of those they left back home, they began writing songs for major and up and coming artists.

Never doubting where destiny would lead them, Siham and Iman formed the eclectic duo SWEET RUSH and landed a record deal with Universal Motown and are currently in the studio working with their talented producer, Jai, the man behind Diddy's hit, "Come to me" Featuring Nicole Scherzinger, amongst others. The sisters recently performed on Mtv's "My super sweet 16" for former NFL player Ray Buchanan's daughter Destinee. SWEET RUSH aspires to become an international Pop duo that will generate interest for decades to come. Signing them off as, uninhibited, beautifully talented free spirit's, that are always inspired.

Sweet Girls Photos Biography
Hey! I'm a simple girl living in Canada! I have an HUGE intrest in music. You know like Chris Brown, Mario, Rihanna, and Ray J. Anyways thats only some.

Also, I love expressing myself through poetry. Although, most of my friends think that my poetry is too wierd. They hate all those love poems I make. So, I figured, this is the best way to express myself without my best buddies nagging me all the time. And I won't get hurt by the people who I don't know, commenting saying that its bad.

Sorta like a win-win situation
Anyways thats me, well, part of me. Outside, I may seem confident, but I'm not. I'm WAY too shy to do those COOL stuff, but if I'm dared to, like DUH I will. I never back down to those things and I'm a real dare devil inside. They all know that!

Since I'm a girl who you might be intrested in, I'm taken. I don't plan on moving anywhere with my heart.
Love to all the fellow Poets everywhere! At Stiff Records, nothing was sacred; often the label's slogans and unorthodox promotion were as memorable as the truly inspired music they released.

With teenage Rachel Sweet, whom they marketed as a "jailbait" country singer (and later as a leather-clad child abductor), it would seem that their perverse humor had finally gone too far. One listen to her albums, however, and all questionable images and in-jokes fall into the background; "the little girl with the big voice" made some terrific music, holding her own on a roster that had no shortage of talent.
