No one expected the deaths to start so quickly in this war. It wasn’t until I had heard the gunshot ringing throughout the empty street that I had known it was war. I hurried out of the apartment. My skirts flapped around my legs, making it nearly impossible to run. The man was lying on the pavement, the pale white of his skin contrasting greatly with the dark pavement. I sucked in a large breath at the sight of him. His skin was waxy, as if someone had carved him out of stone and laid him there as a statue.

And not just any type of Photoshop use—the use of Photoshop in teen magazines. Specifically, these girls asked the editor of teen magazine sensation Seventeen to produce one page of unaltered photos per magazine.

One Fatal Mistake” is a documentary based on a real-life drunk driving catastrophe that took place in Long Island. A drunk driver named Sophia Santos made the poor decision of getting behind the wheel after drinking at the bar. Sophia Santos was only 20 years old at the time of the accident and only had her learner’s permit, meaning that she wasn’t even of legal age to drink and was not supposed to drive without appropriate supervision.

Fantasia Burrino, a unique R&B artist commonly known from American Idol, bares a deeply emotional side of herself on her album “Back to Me.” On this album, Fantasia tells a story illustrating different emotions experienced during a relationship. Each of the songs has different beats and tempos, ranging from slow and peaceful to cheery and upbeat.

Reporting the untold stories of “others,” Bianca Vázquez Toness is a reporter at Boston’s National Public Radio (NPR) station, WBUR. Drawing on her experience as a foreign correspondent living and working in Mexico, Vázquez Toness discusses her transition from print to radio journalism, and how to find the hidden story.
